Crochet Tips and Tricks with Lily with Lily Chin
Learn Lily's secrets to help make your crochet life easier and better.

Find out how to work a foundation chain that is not too tight (see photo). Join a new skein of yarn or a new color with losing the first stitch. See ways of attaching buttons as you work your fabric. Create invisible circular joins where the beginning and end are absolutely imperceptible. Weave in the ends that are too short to put through a darning needle. There is so much to take away including lots of small 'fix-its' and details.

Swatch 1: With light-colored, classic, worsted-weight classic yarn and appropriate hook, make a swatch of 8 single-crochet wide and 6 rows high. Do not break yarn.
Swatch 2: With the same yarn and hook, make a swatch of 6 double-crochet plus a ch-3 at the beginning for 6 rows. Do not do not break yarn.
Optional: Make two 4"x4" swatches of the worst, scratchiest or itchiest yarn you have OR bring in a too-tight swatch or project that feels like cardboard or stiffer.
