Spinning for a Project! with Heavenly Bresser
This class is ALL about project planning for spinners of all levels. No more playing 'yarn chicken' with your handspun or feeling frustrated because your beloved yarn has gotten 'lost' in the pattern!

We'll address major concerns such as how much fiber is 'enough', the importance of grist, how to use a suggested commercial yarn in a pattern as a guide for planning, and other important things to consider before spinning for a project.

We'll discuss the proper use of spinner's tools and guides including the spinner's control card, angle of twist, gauge, and more. This in-depth class is built to help you gain greater confidence in your project planning so you can truly enjoy the yarn you make even after you've set the twist!
Note: Must be able to spin continuous singles and basic plied yarns.

Note: This class is spindle-friendly and not hard for spindlers to keep up with wheel spinners. More than one spindle is recommended but a ball winder will be available to accommodate those with a single spindle.

__Pen or pencil with eraser,
__Drop spindle OR spinning wheel in working order with at least one bobbin (espinners with battery packs are welcome),
__Lazy kate or equivalent.
__Spinner’s control card or wpi tool.
__Optional: Knitting needles or crochet hooks with sizes suitable for project sampling.

Choose a knit or crochet pattern that you’d like to use handspun. Bring 4 ounces of your choice of fiber (combed top or roving). Students may bring works in progress as well. Recommended: Bring an item you enjoy that is similar to your pattern choice. Example: Pattern is a hat, bring in one of your favorite hats.
