Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill is a designer, pattern writer and award-winning quilter. With the help of books and the Internet, she taught herself how to sew and discovered her love of designing and making quilts. As a trained and practicing graphic designer, her quilts start with a concept and research shapes the design. Her work is inspired by her everyday life and experiences. Sheri strives to make beautiful objects that inspire others to make and learn by providing clear instruction and encouragement. In 2016, she was awarded the first annual Craftsy Quilt Designer Fellowship. Sheri is an active member of quilting community. She is an Aurifil Artisan and a guest blogger for Craftsy.

9063 Easy Traditional Hawaiian Applique Made Modern
The Big Island Blossom block is a modern interpretation of traditional Hawaiian quilts. You will learn how to prepare the applique including folding, cutting, basting, and how to apply the motif using needle-turn applique. Learn how Sheri designed the block how you can design your own templates for future projects. Weâ€™ll also review quilting tips and traditional Hawaiian quilting resources. By the end of class, students will have most of the 32" x 32" block basted and will start needle-turn applique.
Materials fee: $4 cut Big Island Blossom pattern/template and handout.

9064 Easy Learn How to Piece Curves!
Don't fear the curve! Students will learn tips and tricks to sew a fantastic curve while making blocks needed for the Picnic Petals quilt, Sheri's modern interpretation of a traditional flowering snowball block. Class includes step-by-step instructions and quilting tips. This is a good class for quilters who have never sewn curves or those who want to gain more experience.

9065 Easy Basic Foundation Paper Piecing
New to Foundation Paper Piecing or need a little help to master this technique? Have you tried paper piecing and consider yourself "paper-pieced challenged"? Learn tips and tricks to paper piecing while working on a fun, easy pattern entitled Deco Daybreak. Sheri will walk you through all of the steps while demonstrating tips and tricks for staying organized, working efficiently and achieving precise alignments. Weâ€™ll also review finishing the quilt top and quilting tips. This workshop is geared towards the beginner or those who are challenged by paper piecing. Inspiration for the Deco Daybreak quilt came from art deco architectural details. The design incorporates the repeat of foundation paper pieced blocks, eliminating the need for tricky Y seams traditionally needed to achieve hexagons.

Weâ€™ll also review finishing the quilt top and quilting tips. This workshop is geared towards the confident beginner / intermediate foundation paper piecer.
