Lily Chin
Lily M Chin is an internationally famous knitter and crocheter who has worked in the yarn industry for over 25 years, as a designer, instructor and author of 8 books on knitting and crochet.  She has created looks for the New York Fashion Week runway collections of designers Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Diane von Furstenberg, and Isaac Mizrahi; and her work has been on the backs of celebrities and supermodels.

Lily was named a Master Knitter by Vogue Knitting and is regularly cited in media across the U.S., including the Late Show with David Letterman, Martha, CBS Morning News, CNN, HGTV and more.

Lily Chin has lived in New York City all her life and has been involved in some aspect of the fashion industry since age 13.

1145 Advanced Darting the Issue Darts are traditionally a technique used in sewing. In this class, get a grasp of how to translate these shaping methods into knitting. Even if you aren't buxom, darts will help a garment hang and fit better.

Learn how to plan and chart for both horizontal and vertical darts. Find out, through measuring, just how much to add or subtract and where. See the various ways to incorporate the darts, even if you're knitting in a patterned stitch!

The use of short rows will be reviewed as will different ways to increase and decrease. By the end of the class, you will have finished a quarter-scale torso with both horizontal and vertical darts plus a few extra swatch samples.

Note: Must be familiar with basic pattern drafting or have experience altering existing patterns successfully.

Make pictures or motifs in two colors without stranding. This is a ground-breaking way of using Tunisian crochet employing a short, double-ended hook.
Command of basic crochet skills is required.
