Candace Eisner Strick
Learning both music and knitting at the age of three, Candace Eisner Strick has followed these two loves all her life. A former cellist, she now devotes her time to all aspects of knitwear. She is the author of eight books, her most recent being Knit My Skirt (XRX, Inc., 2016).

She lives in rural Connecticut with her pianist/knitting husband Ken, rescue wonder-bunny Abraham, and a parrot who owns her. Her designs can be found at the Ravelry store and at Love Knitting website. Appropriately, 'strick' means 'to knit'.

6226 Intermediate Old Shale: Theme and Variation Old Shale is perhaps the most beautiful and beloved of all the Shetland lace patterns. Its beauty and ease of knittingĀ  endures, and its variations are almost limitless. It has but one fault: the bind-off does not wave as beautifully as the cast-on. Come to class and learn how to adjust and manipulate Old Shale into dozens of beautiful variations and how to cure that bind-off problem.
Note: Must be able to read a charted pattern.
Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
2018 Intermediate Skirts For Every Body Most knit skirts use a turned-down waistband with elastic. This creates bulk right where most people don't want it! With Candace's unique method you can banish that bulk. Also learn all the necessary techniques to knit a custom-fit skirt. Sample some fun and flirty design options: from ruffles, to inserts, to handkerchief hemlines.
Saturday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
6202 Advanced Introduction to Strickmuster: The Beautiful Twisted Stitch Patterns of Austria These gorgeous patterns wind and twist around each other in complicated and intricate designs but actually are done using only 2 basic techniques without the use of a cable needle. Students will learn the basics of left and right traveling stitches.
Note: Must be a 'conventional' knitter (ie: knit by taking the stitches off the left needle and transferring them to the right needle) in order for this technique to work correctly.
