7006 No skills required Knitting Happily Ever After: Ergonomics for Knitters Ever known a knitter who hasn't said, "Just one more row"? Me neither! I'll bet they've also complained of aches and pains while knitting. In this class, you'll learn how knitting effects the 'fabric that makes the fabric'--your body and see how your knitting technique impacts your efficiency and productivity. By completing a Risk of Injury assessment in class, you'll learn how knitting contributes to those aches and pains throughout your body. But more importantly, you'll learn how to reduce them. A little knowledge and some simple changes can keep you knitting comfortably and safely ever after. Students who've taken this class have said that it should be "required learning for all knitters regardless of experience level and it's as important as the knit and purl stitches!" This class is taught by a passionate knitter who is also a physical therapist.
Note: This class is not an individual knitting assessment.

1474 No skills required Applying Ergonomic Techniques to your Knitting Looking to improve your knitting's efficiency, productivity, and even knit more comfortably?

Then this is the class for you! Working in small groups under the watchful eye of the knitter who literally wrote the book on the ergonomics of knitting, you'll receive direct feedback on your technique.

Carson will help you learn to identify common knitter mistakes that slow you down, cause discomfort and put you at risk for injury. Best of all, you'll learn how to correct them!

The class also covers how to identify ergonomic risk through chart analysis - from simple to complex so you can plan for and mitigate problems before you encounter them. You'll learn basic ergonomic principles and ways to add movement to knitting to avoid stiffness and injuries caused by disuse, including walking while you knit. Class is appropriate for students who are comfortable with basic knit and purl stitches.
